Successful completion of the 2 year Foundation Degree 4 Years Part-time in Early Years Childcare and Education leads into the final year of this honours degree programme. This is a 2 years part-time or I year full time course. Graduates from the two year Foundation Degree in Early Years: Childcare and Education can progress into a third year of study to gain an honours degree qualification, the BAHons Early Childhood Studies. The rationale of providing a programme of study which is vocational and applied in practice is continued. The focus of the honours programme is to ensure that graduates further develop their research skills and professional practice. Assessed placements within the early years sector are an integral part of the programme. On completion of the programme you could gain employment directly in a setting of your choice and continue your studies to gain Early Years practitioners status. Alternatively you may wish to progress onto a postgraduate certificate in education working towards qualified teacher status. Subjects covered: Programme Structure: The Reflective Practitioner Learning Experience Health and Relationships Professional Issues Dissertation You will be invited to visit the College on specified Open Days when you will have an opportunity to see the facilities and talk with the staff and students. Applicants are considered on individual merit and career advice is given as required if requested. On Completion You can progress into employment within the industry.
