This course develops the skills involved to become a professional hair stylist. It gives students the opportunity to develop and demonstrate a creative flair in the subject as well as developing excellent customer care and professional working relationships. The course covers all aspects of hairdressing including: Client Consultation, Client Care, Shampooing and Conditioning Hair, Cutting Techniques, Colouring Techniques, Reception Work, Health & Safety, Promoting Additional Services and Products and Creating a Positive Impression. The units are assessed by a Portfolio of practical work, along with underpinning knowledge written assessments and assignments. Students can progress to employment or Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing or Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing. This programme includes work experience.
