Law AS Law is taught in four modules following the OCR specification, comprising of two modules in each of the AS and A2 awards. There is no coursework, and the four written exams require students to complete short descriptive writing pieces, make evaluation comments on an aspect of English Law, and solve a problem question by analysing a legal, usually criminal situation. In the first year (AS) we start by examining the processes and personnel that form the English Legal System. A useful insight for anyone considering a legal career, we look at the work of Magistrates, Juries, Lawyers and the Police, before looking at Sentencing procedures, Bail and then finally the civil dispute mechanisms.
