Sewing - Learn to Know & Love Your Sewing Machine (Part 1)

By the end of the course you will have gained experience and knowledge in the correct use of your sewing machine; what the different feet and attachments are for and how to use them, how to correctly wind the bobbin, thread the machine, set tensions and maintain your machine. You will be given information on threads, machine needles, fabric types, etc. to ensure trouble free sewing.This will be followed by basic and more advanced sewing techniques to get you started, which will be demonstrated by the tutor. A very informative short course in a friendly atmosphere, where you will have some input to decide what you would like to learn to get you sewing. Teaching methods used are group tuition and demonstrations, one to one tuition and demonstrations where applicable. There is no formal assessment.This course is suitable for anyone who has an interest in sewing and would like to progress their skills, but who finds that they are hindered by their lack of knowledge of their sewing machine functions. Anyone who has encountered particular difficulty in getting their sewing machine to work trouble free. Anyone who would like to make/alter/mend clothing. Anyone wishing to further their knowledge and experience, or prior to considering further or higher education in a relevant field of study.
