An understanding of politics will stand you in good stead whatever you go on to study at university. As well as learning about UK democracy and government, this course also examines American government. It's a great choice if you're interested in analysing how different political systems work. You'll be expected to read widely around the subject outside lessons and to make a contribution in class. It goes well with History, Economics and Law at A Level, and is ideal if you have ambitions to study History, Law, Politics, International Relations or Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at university. Several students have gone on to Oxbridge and Russell Group universities to study this subject. At A2, you will analyse American government: the US Presidency, Supreme Court and Congress will be assessed.
