For many students a Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/D) best suits their aptitudes and career goals; reflecting the requirements of professional organisations and meeting the National Occupation Standards for each sector or industry. The HNC/D offers a strong emphasis on practical skills development as well as the expansion of sector-related knowledge and understanding.The study of Applied Biology will develop your knowledge of both the practical elements of biology and the foundations of biological principles. You will complete the HNC in your first year and move to the HND in your second year at which time you will have the option to choose a research project, dependent on your chosen career path.You'll benefit from small class sizes and state-of-the-art equipment in our brand new STEM centre.
