This is an ideal first qualification in art & design, which could lead to employment or further education. The course is based on practical assignments, giving you the opportunity to develop skills in a range of art & design related areas including: 2D & 3D, Mixed media, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Photography, Textiles, Painting & Drawing Skills. You will need to: Demonstrate an aptitude for Art & Design. On interview you are requested to present a portfolio. This is to consist of your own artwork - traditional or digital and/or sketchbooks; Successfully participate in a Discovery Day. Study visits to museums & art galleries are included in the programme. Additional visits where applicable for specific coursework input, are also required. Students must access the art studios off timetable to continue working on coursework & private study of at least three hours a week.
