The two year course combines academic sporting qualifications with practical skills development, coaching and competitive fixtures and is designed for students wishing to develop a comprehensive overview of the sports industry with a specific focus on the game. Students will work daily on their fitness and ball skills, gaining knowledge of key issues in sport. Units may include: Anatomy and Physiology for Football, Physiology of Fitness, Assessing Risks in Sport, Fitness Training and Programming, Sports Coaching, Sports Development, Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise, Practical Team Sports and Individual Sports, Sports Nutrition, Exercise Health and Lifestyle, Analysis of Sports Performance, Sports Events. You would normally study the 90 Credit Diploma in year 1, and progress to the Extended Diploma in year 2.
