UPDATED 20161108 16:47:31

A step up from the Level 2 diploma, the Level 3 courses offer the opportunity to investigate a range of more advanced horse management topics both in the classroom and practically on the equine yard. There is also the opportunity to study other related qualifications alongside the diploma to best prepare you for employment or higher education within the equine sector. This course includes work experience including the preparation and running of Askham Bryan Horse Trials, animal feeding and health, horse tack and equipment, riding and exercising horses, principles of equitation, horse behaviour and welfare, preparing horses for presentation, anatomy and physiology, riding horses on the flat; rehabilitation and therapy, business management, animal biology, riding over fences or working horses on the ground, horse fitness, equestrian teaching and an investigative project of your own. Your work is assessed continually throughout the course: this could be through practical work, theory and riding. There are also assignments to write.
