In Year 13 students study two units: ? G3: Contemporary Themes and Research in Geography ? G4: Sustainability In both Year 12 and 13 students will undertake fieldwork when appropriate and will be expected to go to a field studies centre in such places as The Lake District or Malham Cove for 2/3 nights to collect data, practice investigation skills and prepare for their fieldwork investigation and exams based upon it. Where appropriate local geographical sites will be visited to see real geography outside of the classroom. There are direct links with careers in town and country planning, cartography, police, army, surveying, public service industries, tourism, transport planning, the water industry and environmental work. Careers in education, industry and finance can also be linked to the study of Geography.
