We cover six separate units across the year, three compulsory and three selected with consultation with students. Compulsory units; Unit 1 Fitness for Sport and Exercise We look at the components of fitness and the principles of training. Explore a range of different training methods and ways in which we can use fitness tests to determine our fitness levels. Unit 2 Practical Sports Performance For two sporting activities you need to know the rules and regulations relating to them. On a practical level you must be able to demonstrate a range of skills, techniques and tactics in two sports. You will also develop the ability to review your performance and improve. Unit 7 Anatomy & Physiology for Sports Performance We investigate the human body and how the different systems work together enabling us t participate in sport. The two main systems we focus on are the musculoskeletal system and the cardiorespiratory system.
