The course is very demanding. It is expected that you will take increasing responsibility for your own learning and evaluate your own mathematical development on a regular basis. You will be expected to seek extra support outside lessons when appropriate. Mathematics with Mechanics A Level is a good foundation for Business & Economics, Technological, Scientific and Medical courses. It is also a good course for those students who are interested in Art or Humanities subjects, but would like to broaden their options and develop their logical reasoning skills. The course comprises two areas of mathematics; Core Maths, which is very much like the GCSE algebra and shape and space work and mechanics, which is the mathematics that underpins Physics work from GCSE.
