The course offers a mix of skills and knowledge that will prepare you for working within the Uniformed Public Services and/or active leisure industry. These include adventurous activities, working in teams, dealing with the public, keeping the right level of fitness, jobs within Public Services and expeditions. The Sport and Public Service course will help you to understand what a job in the Public Services would be like and will help to prepare you for that job should you want it. It will also help you to continue in education as success on the course will allow consideration for further study at a higher level. The course consists of 6 units in all and there will be some academic content but the emphasis will be on practical activities to help you learn and understand. A range of additional qualifications is also available to improve your opportunities and future career choices; Work Skills Certificate, First Aid, Maths/English retakes and Governing Body awards.
