This course meets the requirements of students who are interested in how technology is used in the production, maintenance and repair of all engineered items. The course is divided equally between classroom and workshop activities. The units include Welding, Hand-Skills, Milling and Turning, Industrial Studies, Computer Aided Manufacture and Computer Aided Drafting which is taught using AutoCAD or Rhino dependant on the level of entry. The welding component utilises modern techniques such as TIG and MIG as well as MMA and Plasma Cutting. This course may lead to an Engineering Apprenticeship or further study.
