M07C11B: The aim of this course is to learn how to bake with confidence. You will cover a range of techniques to help you make pastries, cakes, biscuits and savoury items. The course is designed to promote safe and sustainable practices for you and others. It is aimed at either men or women with some basic knowledge of baking who wish to advance their skills and acquire some new ones in baking and pastry work. You will be able to work reasonably at your own pace. You should have enthusiasm and a keen interest in cookery.

The ILR is a way for you to identify your strengths, challenges and interests and set your own personal targets. This, in turn, will inform the tutor of your starting point and ensure you get the best out of your course. With your tutor you will revisit the ILR regularly so that progress and further actions can be discussed, agreed and recorded.
