Pottery - summer project

You will develop several construction methods in clay, improve skills you already have and discover the appropriate making methods you will need to achieve the forms you aim for. You will learn several ways to apply decoration and glazing to your pottery forms and experiment with different approaches to the composition of surface decoration. Some information about ceramics materials and history will be touched upon in the context of making, including drawing attention to current trends. You will also learn good workshop practice and how to work safely in the pottery.

Entry requirements

A small charge is included in the course fee for basic art materials. Where appropriate a charge has been included for kiln firing, life model costs. You may be asked to provide additional materials / tools etc. for your course. This will be discussed with the course tutor and may not be covered in the course materials fee. Please do not purchase anything before your first session unless requested to do so. No liability can be accepted for expenses incurred for a course cancelled / altered at short notice.
