90-credit Diploma in Business. This is a practical work-related course with a wide range of topics such as Economics, Accounts, Law, Marketing, Business Ethics and Human Resources. You will examine major businesses such as McDonalds, Amazon, Manchester United, Oxfam, Apple, Ikea, amongst other businesses you will be familiar with. Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to take part in a number of visits, to help with your knowledge and understanding of business concepts. You will be visiting businesses including Manchester United and Alton Towers. During your course you will study units such as Starting a Small Business where you will develop your own business idea. Units with an economics focus, such as The Business Environment, International Business and Business, Markets and the Economy, will develop your understanding of the external factors that can affect all businesses. The Marketing units will help you to understand how products are promoted and the different marketing methods involved when launching a product. In the second year of your course you will have the opportunity to attend sessions to develop your employability skills, these sessions are run by KPMG and Sainsburys.
