E060 - This is a vocational qualification which is achieved by evidencing vocational competence. This course is for people who are in a caring role within the Health and Social Care sector. You may be employed full or part-time, paid or voluntary. The award allows people to become more competent and confident in their work and will increase their value in the employment market. It will also enable candidates to progress to further education and training. This course is work based and assessment is based on observations of you in your work role, along with a portfolio of evidence in which you will demonstrate your competence. There is the opportunity for students to work electronically within the programme. The qualification has three pathways which can be tailored to your specific area of competence/work environment, which include; a General Pathway, Dementia Pathway and the Learning Disability Pathway. At level 3 you must obtain 58 or more credits to achieve the Diploma. These credits are achieved by completing 9 mandatory units and a selection of units from the optional list Some credits achieved from this qualification can be used to progress on to the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 5 and also towards Children and Young People Diploma. This qualification will provide opportunities to gain employment as a Senior Carer.
