Learners can develop a more 'hands on' approach to their learning and gain practical skills, knowledge and understanding in their chosen vocational area(s). The skills, knowledge and understanding gained may help learners prepare for work through real or simulated work situations and may contribute to preparing them for working life beyond education. The qualification is intended to give learners a solid base from which to further develop their skills and learning.

Entry requirements

All course materials are provided by the College. You will need to supply your own stationery, pen drives/USB sticks. All students have a small college printer allowance of £10 (2015/16) at the start of the year and further requirements must be paid for by the student. You may find it necessary to top up your printer credit once or twice during the year. Students will be required to pay their own travel costs to and from work experience placements.
