This course will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy cooking meals at home. You will gain an understanding of how to economise when planning meals to cook and you will be encouraged to inspire others by passing on the skills and recipes you have learnt. This course is based on the chef Jamie Oliver's proposition that being able to cook is an essential life skill which empowers people to makes changes that have benefits to health and wellbeing.

You may want to purchase your own recipe books for the course, although some will be available in the classroom for use. Most basic ingredients for the recipes learnt will be provided but occasionally you may wish to cook with a more specialist item and you will be required to purchase this for use in the classroom.
