You will grow in confidence as you acquire a range of skills, such as planning trips to the UK and worldwide travel destinations, marketing and customer services. You'll gain essential practical skills which will be enhanced by gaining experience in the workplace and through external training. You will also visit employers and learn from key industry representatives who will share their expertise and knowledge. We run a series of taster session during the year for you to come and have a go at Travel & Tourism to see if this is the right choice for you. On the course you will get an insight into the Travel & Tourism industry at national and international level. This course will provide a great starting point in your career whether you want to go onto higher qualifications or get a job straight away You will gain experience of working with other people, problem solving and meeting deadlines, all of which are essential for a successful career in travel. In addition you will learn to use information technology and develop a good understanding of customer service and the skills required to work in this fast paced industry. You will also enjoy a number of educational trips so it's a chance to break away from the classroom and see how it all works in the real world. Exciting subjects include; Exploring Airports and Airlines and Overseas Holiday Operations, which can help give you an edge over other candidates in the industry by offering an insight into these busy important areas of Travel & Tourism. Name: Travel & Tourism - Level 2 Qualification title: Diploma in Travel and Tourism (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment You will study a combination of practical and theory subjects. Each assessment will be graded at pass, merit or distinction level and is continuous throughout the duration of your course. Whilst taking one of our full-time courses you will also complete a programme of Functional Skills which could comprise of a combination of English, Math and ICT. These Functional Skills are an essential requirement for employment progression, higher education and other further education courses.
