Course Description This course covers aspects of beauty therapy. You can take part in competitions and visit trade fairs. You will learn through theory and practical classes (including practising all treatments on fellow students prior to working on clients), projects, role plays, case studies, work experience, competitions, and reception duties. The clients visiting our working salons require a wide range of treatments, and you will perform all portfolio evidence assessments on external clients. On your course you'll train in our professional Beauty salon and spa, which are open to the public, and take part in industry visits and exhibitions. After your course, you'll be confident, qualified and job ready. This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications. Extended Description You will do lots of practical work and will cover lots of different skills including: - Provide a manicure service - Provide a pedicure service - Provide a make-up service - Carry out waxing services - Provide facial skin treatment - Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes - Fulfil salon reception duties - English & maths Future Opportunities Once you have completed this course, you will be able to go onto study the Level 3 Beauty Therapy course or progress onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship, where you will develop your skills further and then be ready to go and work in the industry. You can go into a salon work as a trainee.

Name: Beauty - Level 2 Qualification title: NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy General (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment You will be assessed throughout the year using your portfolio of evidence and tests. There is an online exam which assesses the Health and Safety aspect of the course. Whilst taking one of our full-time courses you will also complete a programme of Functional Skills which could comprise of a combination of English, Math and ICT. These Functional Skills are an essential requirement for employment progression, higher education and other further education courses.
