Who is the course for? Students considering a career in Art and Design and wishing to study art and design related courses at university. What can it lead to? This course can lead to careers in Graphic Design and Illustration, Games and Web Design, Interior and Spatial Design, Product and Vehicle Design, Theatre Design, Fashion and Textiles Design, Jewellery and Accessory Design. What will I study? This course gives you a broad view of art and design. You will study 2D subjects (Drawing, Painting, Printing, Photoshop) and 3D subjects (Ceramics and Resistant Materials) and Other Peoples' Art. You will start with observational drawings and artist research in your sketchbook. You will explore 2D and 3D materials and techniques in the workshops and make several samples. You will learn how to use your initial research to develop ideas. You will design and make a final piece for each project.

Name: BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design (Subsidiary Route) Qualification title: BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Art and Design (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Continuous assessment throughout the year. You will complete sketchbooks and final pieces for each project, writing comments about your work and a final evaluation. These art pieces will be assessed and you can achieve either a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade. At the end of your second year, you will complete a final project where you have an opportunity to work more independently.
