This is a practical programme which will provide you with an excellent introduction for a career in catering and hospitality. Additionally, there will be opportunities available to you to attend work placements and educational visits to local restaurants and suppliers.You will develop skills, work under pressure and learn to be part of a team. You will also undertake additional qualifications to enhance your career opportunities.You will study a range of different modules including:Food safetyHealth and SafetyHealthy eatingPreparing and cooking different foodsDevelop skills for employability in hospitality and catering areaCosting and menu planningPastry products, cakes, biscuits and sponges and fermented dough productsFunctional skillsWork experience - placement.You will be asked to cater for college events and functions as part of the course.
