Course code for reference LS6LPET2013 Aims of the Course. Create paintings using watercolour and explore different themes including still life and landscape. Create a series of paintings starting from photographs and drawings. Apply a variety of watercolour techniques including laying washes and mixing colours. Demonstrate the marks different brushes make on a variety of watercolour papers. Use a colour wheel and mix bright clean secondary and tertiary colours About the Course: Join us for a fun practical art course learning the basic techniques used in watercolour painting. You will learn how to mix and apply paint to a variety of surfaces using different brushes. You will leave the course having completed a series of paintings starting from your own observational drawings and / or from photographs. The knowledge and skills gained should give you the confidence to create your own paintings in the future. No previous knowledge is required. For the first session you will need to buy/bring: Watercolour paints (12 colour pans or tubes) large plastic palette water container and a size 6 nylon / sable round ended brush. A3 watercolour pad.
