Studying dance at Richmond upon Thames College is a remarkable experience. You will not only be fully supported through your course with our excellent dance teachers, you will be on a course which has an outstanding achievement rate. At RuTC we are passionate about dance and continually work to make your experience of dance as rewarding as possible. As well as three fully equipped dance studios, you will be given the opportunity to perform in our 200 seat theatre as well as performing at other venues. We pride ourselves on offering a diverse student experience. This is a one-year practical based course that focuses on technique, performance and choreography. The course focuses on contemporary dance technique, however you will gain some experience of Classical Ballet technique. You will also participate in Urban Dance week, taught by a professional dance artist developing your skills in this dance style. As part of the course you will also study Dance fitness and Anatomy. You will have the opportunity to work along side other BTEC dance students and perform in the December dance show and participate in the Performing Arts Festivals.

These are continually assessed through regular assignments and practical projects. Assignments may range from accessed rehearsals or performances to project based written work.
