Access to HE Nursing & Midwifery

This QAA recognised Access to HE programme is designed for adults who wish to pursue a nursing or midwifery career but who lack the formal qualifications or confidence for direct entry into the necessary university study. The focus is on developing academic skills through the exploration of health related issues. The development and strengthening of English and maths skills underpins the programme. By providing a supportive and inclusive environment, the Access to HE programme also provides the opportunity for students to develop their confidence and realistically appraise their professional opportunities Topics of study include: ◾Health studies ◾Health psychology ◾Human biology ◾Application of number (health context) ◾HE English skills Students will have the opportunity to organise and participate in an academic and professional conference and health symposium.
