"Year 1 You will explore a wide range of written and spoken texts and develop your skills of analysing language used in the world around us. You will also learn about how factors such as age, gender and occupation influence the language we use. You will develop your original writing skills and learn to target different audiences and purposes. Year 2 You will learn about how children develop their spoken and written language skills. You will study Language Change and learn about how and why language continues to evolve. You will undertake a Language Investigation based on a topic such as language and power or journalism. You will collect and analyse your own data and develop your independent learning skills."
