Is this the right course for me? This course is an introduction to bicycle maintenance and mechanics. Basic servicing, repairs and safety checks are covered and will provide a basic understanding of how bicycles work and a good platform for developing more advanced skills. What will I learn? The essential components and different kinds of bicycles How to check a bicycle is safe to use How to identify worn/failed components The proper use of cycle specific tools 'Roadside' repairs of common mechanical problems including puncture repairs Proper use of chemicals and lubricants on bicycles Basic gear and brake adjustments Maintenance routines for extending the life of your bike How will I learn? Tutorials and practical work in our workshop. Will I gain a qualification? You may not gain a formal qualification but you can receive a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor.
