Creative Digital Photography - Getting to grips with your digital camera

UPDATED 20160205 15:06:41

Is this the right course for me? This course is aimed at photographers who wish to get to know their digital SLR and learn techniques associated with digital imaging. The course assumes some basic knowledge of the digital camera (compact or dSLR). This is essentially a practical course some of which will be out of the classroom where you will be able to put into practice principles learned. What will I learn? You will develop a basic understanding of the principles of light, depth of field and choice of lens etc. You will begin to appreciate the camera as a whole. We will explore visual composition, framing and quality of light as well as discussing equipment and travel tips for Faces, Places and Things. How will I learn? You will learn through practical, hands-on use of your camera. The aim is to enable students to gain confidence in using their camera and so improve their digital photographic skills. This course is aimed at new/inexperienced owners of dSLR cameras Will I gain a qualification? You will not gain a formal qualification but you may request a Certificate of Attendance from your tutor. What can I do next? You may wish to join other digital photography or image manipulation courses with Community Learning MK or join a photography club.
