A Level History

The A Level course consists of four units over the two years. Three units will be examination based and one unit will be coursework based. In year 12, you study Germany and West Germany, 1918-89. You will explore political and governmental changes; opposition, control and consent and aspects of life in Germany and West Germany. The second unit to be studied focuses on the rise and fall of fascism in Italy 1911-1946. You will investigate the rise of Mussolini and the creation of a fascist dictatorship; control and policies within the fascist state and the fall of the fascist state. In year 13, you are required to complete an independent historical investigation examining a historical controversy and investigating the work of other historians. For the final unit you will focus on early Tudor History; the Lancastrians. Yorkists and Henry VII.
