The new specification for A Level approaches the study of literature with a focus on genre and theory, encouraging the independent study of a range of texts within a shared context, and giving logic and meaning to the way that texts are grouped for study. The English Literature A Level course will open up the world of classic and contemporary literature - it encompasses so much more than purely reading novels, such as human psychology, history, sociology, citizenship and the arts, thus complementing any future studies in the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Law faculties at university. Subject Content: • Love through the ages • Texts in shared contexts • Non-examination assessment Critical Study: Texts across time
