From a personal perspective, Psychology explores those fundamental questions of ‘why did I do that?’ and ‘why do I feel like this?’ However, the subject goes way beyond the pages of an agony column. Throughout your study of Psychology, you will learn about cognitive processes such as memory and language; developmental issues such as how children learn how to behave and how personalities are formed; social issues such as conformity to social roles; physiological processes that affect people such as dreams and spatial awareness; mental health issues; schizophrenia; aggression; gender differences and much more. You will be introduced to a range of theories and methods used in the study of Psychology. Our Psychology teachers are enthusiastic and teach using a wide range of creative methods. There are many opportunities for enrichment, including a visit to London, Chester zoo and university conferences.
