Opting for Further Mathematics means two A Levels will be gained over the two years. In year 12 students will cover all topics included in the Year 12 single Mathematics award. In addition there will be further study of a combination of Pure Mathematics, Mechanics, Statistics and/or Decision Mathematics topics, such as Complex Numbers, Matrices, Vectors, Linear Programming, and a wider range of statistical distributions. In Year 13 students will cover all topics included in the Year 13 single Mathematics award. In addition there will be further study of a combination of Pure Mathematics, Mechanics, Statistics and/or Decision Mathematics topics, for instance, Polar Co-ordinates, Momentum and Impulse, Correlation and Regression, Dynamic Programming and Game Theory.
