English Literature

The course aims to develop students as independent readers and critics of literary texts through both wide and close reading. Students will study a range of plays, poetry and prose by significant writers throughout English history, including work by Shakespeare, Arthur Miller, John Keats and F Scott Fitzgerald. Students will learn both how writing can become an art form and the importance of contextual readings.
