This qualification emphasises practical creativity alongside research and theoretical understanding behind Drama and Theatre. This is an exciting course that allows you to practically explore theatre and understand the key theories as a performer or designer or a combination. Throughout the course you will develop a knowledge and understanding of drama and theatre through the study of set plays. You will also have the opportunity to attend theatre trips in order to analyse and evaluate the work of live theatre makers. You will take part in a number of practical workshops exploring styles, genres and the work of key practitioners. Practical performances will cover practical exploration and theatrical interpretation of extracts of plays as well as creating devised drama. Throughout practical projects you will develop skills in analysing your practice and interpretations. Throughout your studies you will have tutoring from Theatre professionals as well as a designated Performing Arts technician who will give you access to lighting, sound and set.
