Mathematics

UPDATED 20161018 10:53:55

All A level mathematics students learn to think logically, ask and investigate questions and communicate complicated concepts elegantly. As well as teaching problem solving and data handling skills, mathematics forms the language of most of the laboratory sciences and many of the quantitative parts of social sciences. Students study core (pure) mathematics alongside one or more of mechanics, statistics and decision mathematics. As well as being highly regarded across all universities for a wide range of degree courses, it is one of the school’s most popular subjects; we currently have over 40 pupils on the AS course. Further Maths is also available on a pupil-by-pupil basis.
