COURSE OVERVIEW- Why study Health and Social Care? This course offers a broad introduction to, and an understanding of, health and care services, some aspects of which can be studied in depth. It aims to develop skills and knowledge and enable you to develop research and increase independent learning skills. WHAT WILL I STUDY? HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED? Health and Social Care is available as both an AS (three units) and continues with an A Level (three units). The course is unit-based with one-third of units externally tested (in an examination) and two thirds of units internally assessed in the form of assignments (making up a portfolio).
