Many of our A-level Maths’ students are more than capable of studying extra modules. Those who choose to study extra modules invariably benefit from doing so. A quick glance at students who gain entry to Oxbridge reveals a significant number with a double maths qualification. If you were in one of our top two sets for GCSE you should give some thought to AS level or full A level Further Maths. COURSE STRUCTURE Three modules for an AS level, six for the full A level. There is some flexibility in the choice of modules. ASSESSMENT Each AS module has a 90 minute end-of-unit exam. In A2 each unit is assessed by a 90 minute examination with the exception of Core 3 and Core 4. In Core 3 there is also an element of coursework which is worth 33% of the marks available for that unit and Core 4 has an additional 1 hour comprehension paper that is taken at the same time as the end of unit examination.
