The OCR A Level in Media Studies introduces learners to the role and influence of the media. There will be both a historical and contemporary aspect to the specification. The role and impact of the media on society, culture, politics and the economy in both domestic and global spheres will be considered. (taken from the draft 2017 specification)

Name: Media Studies (AS and A2) Qualification title: GCE A level Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment OCR’s A Level in Media Studies is a linear qualification with 70% external assessment by examination and 30% non-exam assessment (NEA). This qualification consists of two components that are externally assessed (Components 01 and 02) and one component that is assessed by the centre and externally moderated by OCR (Component 03/04).
