A Level Geography includes: • engaging contemporary issues such as tectonic hazards, globalisation and water security • popular and familiar themes such as changing landscapes and human development • learning about climate change and world futures, superpowers and real life geographical issues • 4 days of fieldwork and an independent investigation The subject content includes more detailed expectations for developing qualitative and quantitative data skills. Both AS and A level fieldwork to be undertaken in relation to physical and human geography. All A level students will complete one Independent Investigation, which will be a non-examined assessment and must draw on fieldwork: this is 20% of the A level. AS level fieldwork will be assessed by exam.
