BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Sport

The BTEC diploma is a vocational, highly practical course. All of the units give practical, hands on experience of many differing sports industries. You will study fitness programing, practical sports activities, outdoor and adventurous activities, sports science, sports coaching and also undertake a relevant work experience placement. All students on the course will take the same core units. You will also be able to choose further units in either of 2 pathways depending on your interests, these are 1) sport or 2) outdoor and adventurous activities. Core Units: •Fitness for Sport and Exercise •Practical Sport •Sports related project •The Mind and Sports Performance •The Sports Performer in Action •Training for Personal Fitness •Anatomy & Physiology for Sports Performance Option 1) Sport Units: •Expedition Experience •Work Experience in Sport •Leading Sports Activities •Injury and the Sports Performer •Running a Sports Event •Sport Community Volunteering Option 2) (OAA) Units: •Expedition Experience •Work Experience in Sport •Practical Land-based Outdoor and Adventurous Activities •Land-based Outdoor and Adventure Activity Leadership
