UPDATED 20160315 11:08:13

This course is designed to develop students understanding and aptitude for designing and manufacturing products from resistant materials. Product Design Innovation is about the process involved in taking a product that we may use in everyday life from concept, to design, to the market place. This course offers students the distinct opportunity to use their creative ingenuity and flair to realise their own design into a working product. Computer-aided design and manufacture is an integral part of this course, students will also use a range of other ICT skills to build up their E portfolio. Design and communication methods are taught throughout. The portfolio of work produced for Unit 1 and Unit 4 can be a useful asset in higher education or job interviews. Students will design and fabricate products at both AS and A2 Level in an extremely well equipped and stimulating environment. Students will also examine, in the form of a report, existing products and investigate the materials, processes and client needs within the product.
