This course is designed to encourage you to take a broad view of design and technology and to develop your capacity to design and make products. You will have the opportunity to study and work with a variety of textile materials to enable you to understand the working characteristics, physical properties, cost and availability which influences the choice of materials in design situations.You will gain knowledge of manufacturing systems and practices used in the textile industry and an understanding of how materials and components are worked as toiles, prototypes or models as part of a design realisation.
