English Literature is a lively, relevant and engaging course, using the latest approaches to the reading and study of literature through the lens of genre and theory. The independent study of a range of texts within a shared context is key to the course. This wider reading is designed to give you a greater experience and appreciation of literature. The course will help you to develop a wide range of skills, such as the ability to read critically, analyse, evaluate and undertake independent research which are valuable for both further study and future employment. The syllabus will cover Literary Genres; Texts and Genres; Theory and Independence.
