What will I learn? Studying History at AS Level provides the opportunity for students to further their historic knowledge, skills and understanding in a friendly environment will like-minded people. Students are given the opportunity to study History at AS Level through the exam board AQA. The making of a superpower and Russia and the Soviet Union modules will help students explore and analyse different opinions and actions. History at AS level offers the students a chance to study lively and attractive material, while also offering guidance on the key terms, events and issues. Thought provoking activities and questions are used in a way that is designed to advance students’ understanding, think for themselves, share ideas with others and develop their knowledge and skills needed to achieve their full potential. History is a challenging yet extremely popular course as it provides students with an excellent grounding in for Higher Education. What skills do I need? • Ability to evaluate historical documents - how far can you trust them? How useful are they? • Ability to express your own opinion • Research skills How is the course graded? You will do two exams as part of the AS course, both 1 hour 30 minutes long. As part of the A2 course you do one coursework question and sit one exam.
