This 8 week course (2.5 hrs per week) would provide a progression route from the 4 hour recycling workshops. Participants would spend time producing work which they would then market and sell as part of the outcomes of the course. Any income generated would be given to a charity decided on by the participants. The focus is on encouraging resourcefulness and considering methods in which a more entrepreneurial approach could be taken. An brief outline of the course is as follows; Week 1 - introduction to project and planning individual outcomes Weeks 2 - 5 - production of items Week 6 - finish items + planning for marketing (venue and publicity) Week 7 - hire of venue/stall and sell items Week 8 - review and action plan for next steps - thinking about self-employment and where to go for further help. Learners would develop their practical skills and will have considered how to use these skills as a possible route into becoming self employed as well as developing business awareness. The course would be aimed at people who are unemployed or looking to use creative skills as a method for generating income.
