During Stage one, you will study a broad range of theoretical concepts and topics interspersed with practical opportunities to apply your knowledge. Within stages two and three you are able to specialise, focussing on areas that you are particularly interested in, as well as undertaking work- and field-based projects throughout. As a key component of Stage three, you undertake an independent research dissertation on a topic of your choice. This provides an opportunity for you to explore an area of specific interest and demonstrate the skills that you have learned as part of the course. Teaching and learning is enriched by the use of a variety of delivery styles, combined with practical laboratory and field work, including an optional overseas field course. Employability skills are developed via work placements and a final year module in Ecological Survey and Consultancy.
