Depending on if the learner will study for the Award, Certificate or Diploma, there are set numbers of units that are mandatory and generic to the food industry. In addition to this the learner has to choose units from optional groups. There is a bank of units for each pathway and are chosen following a skills scan to ensure that the units best represent the candidate's natural job role. Delivery of the qualification is completely based at the employer address at a time Convenient to the employer and candidate concerned. An assessor will visit candidates on a regular basis to carry out work place assessments, as candidates must show occupational competence. In addition to this the assessor will spend one to one time with the candidate, offering valuable guidance.Approach varies from employer to employer as the delivery of the programme is tailor-made to suit the employer's needs.
