The course is taught in 3 different strands: Public Services or Expedition Leadership or Coaching. Students will decide which strand is best suited to them and their career aspirations. Course Content: Fitness for Sport and Exercise Practical Sport Performance Anatomy and Physiology Leading Sports Activities Promotion and Sponsorship in Sport Lifestyle and Wellbeing Running a Sports Event Sport and Active Leisure Industry Profiling Sports Performance Sports Performer in Action Training for Personal Fitness Industry and the Sports Performer Additional Specialist Learning Level 2 Award in Public Services: Role and Work of the Public Services Working Skills in the Public Service Sector Employment in Public Services Public Services and Community Protection Level 2 Award in Assisting in Basic Expedition Leadership: Developing Outdoor Leadership Skills Plan, Lead and Evaluate a Series of Expedition Sessions Lead Activities that Promote Environmental Responsibility Develop Personal Journeying Skills Develop Personal Camp Craft Skills Level 2 Community Sports Leaders Award: Organising and Delivering a Sports Activity Session Establishing and Maintaining a Safe Sporting Activity Sports and Recreation in the UK Fitness Sessions Running Sporting Events or Competitions Adapting Sports Activities Select, Plan and Lead a Sporting Activity Demonstration of Leadership Skills in the Community The units studied will depend on which strand of the course is being studied (Coaching or Expedition Leadership or Public Services). Functional Skills or GCSE are compulsory and provide opportunities to acquire skills in Maths and English.
